Immunity The Gift of Life
To say that enzymes are the cure all to end all would be an exaggeration. As mentioned at the end of the last chapter, other factors may assist in the loss of ones vitality. Its safe to say that enzymes deficiency is not the singular source of all disease. However, it has been proven that they are responsible for cellular activity and cellular integrity, as well as for breaking down and eliminating waste and toxic substances from the body.
Another essential role enzymes play is within the immune system. Enzymes are singularly responsible for fighting off harmful invaders such as viruses, bacterias, tumors, heavy metals, and deadly chemicals. Without enzymes the immune system would be left to defend itself against these as well as other detrimental substances in the body.
Research has been shown that a weak immune system correlates to and with low levels of enzymes activity. (8) In comparison, a healthy immune system has been shown to have an abundance of active enzymes. It doesnt take a scientist to recognize the importance of enzymes based on this truth alone.
White blood cells (leukocytes) are also a fundamental component of the immune system. If you ever have your blood viewed under a dark field microscope (Microscopy, live blood analysis) then you will see for yourself these pivotal players doing what they do best, destroying all foreign, disease ridden substances in the blood as well as within the lymph system.
Where do enzymes fit in with white blood cells? White blood cells (leukocytes) are basically enzymes in their own right. Explanation: leukocytes are made up from a series of enzymes such as, amylase, eight different kinds to be exact, as well as proteolytic and lipolytic enzymes. (9) This makes white blood cells very enzymatic in nature as it is their job to collect and break down all foreign substances in the blood for elimination. As you have learned earlier, this is very similar to the task of enzymes.
Should I or shouldnt I
The benefits of supplying and replenishing the bodys supply of active enzymes through the consumption of living raw food and supplementation vs. the bleak alternative have been documented time and time again. At our work shops people see the power of enzymes for themselves first hand.
Diets rich in digestive enzymes (with the use of raw foods and supplementation)
· Food is easily digested
· Proper assimilation of all available essentials nutrients
· Optimal immune function as well as replenishing vital metabolic enzymes (endogenous enzymes)
Vs. Diet with little or no digestive enzymes
· Borrows enzymes from the metabolic enzyme (endogenous enzymes) account to complete the digestion of enzyme dead food
· Immune system is compromised and becomes prone to disease
You do the math, with enzymes food is easily digested, and nutrition is easily assimilated making it effortless for the body to create strong bones, hair, skin, organs, etc. VS. a diet minus essential enzymes which entails food being improperly digested and leads to the borrowing, or more like stealing of vital metabolic enzymes. Again, it doesnt take a scientist to figure out this simple equation. Without the use of enzymes the bodys cellular integrity is heavily compromised as health and vitality becomes a distant memory.
